Environmental Remediation Engineer
About the role
Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is seeking an Environmental Remediation Engineer Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to be located in our Charlotte, NC office. We are a leading environmental consulting firm specializing in providing innovative and sustainable solutions to complex environmental challenges. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support on environmental remediation and SPCC projects from start to finish, including conducting site investigations, developing remediation plans and feasibility studies, designing remediation systems and approaches, overseeing remediation activities including operation and maintenance of systems, certifying SPCC plans and reporting results to clients and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support during site investigations to assess the extent of contamination.
- Develop remediation plans that meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare feasibility studies on selected remedial technologies.
- Oversee remediation activities, including in-situ soil and groundwater treatment, and vapor mitigation.
- Design remediation systems and other remedial cleanup alternatives.
- Review operation and maintenance data to increase efficiency of existing systems.
- Manage project budgets and schedules and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to ensure that project goals are met.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Review and certification of SPCC plans.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in leading various remedial technologies is required.
- Candidate will be expected to be the Engineer in Charge of our NC engineering work.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental remediation projects.
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is required (and can be provided for the right candidate).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification a plus.
- Ability to coach and mentor EITs and inexperienced engineers.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to environmental remediation.
- Experience with site investigations, remediation design and implementation of remedial technologies.
- Experience with SPCC Plans.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Compliance with any client requirements.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification in NC is required.
- North Carolina Professional geologist certification would be a plus.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
- Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work).
- Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects.
- Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching).
- Subject to environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change).
- Operation of a motor vehicle.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant’s job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
