Responsibilities
- Manage a pipeline of company owners coming through SourceCo’s inbound channels and referral partner network, guiding them from initial engagement through close.
- Use SourceCo’s marketplace and proprietary deal pairing tools to identify and connect owners with the most relevant institutional buyers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and steward for business owners, many of whom are navigating a sale for the first time.
- Drive deals to close—use our software platforms to identify the right investors, manage investor relationships, coordinate buyer-seller introductions, and manage owner expectations.
- Maintain disciplined deal qualification to ensure time is spent on the highest-probability opportunities.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the product and engineering team on SourceCo’s marketplace tools, deal pairing algorithms, and workflows.
- Collaborate on building and refining features that make deal execution faster, smarter, and more scalable.
- Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors on the platform, understanding their acquisition criteria and investment thesis.
- Leverage data and platform insights to proactively match deals to investors before they hit the broader market.
- Contribute to the overall health and quality of SourceCo’s marketplace by ensuring high-quality deal flow and buyer engagement.
Requirements
- 3–8 years of experience in M&A, either sell-side or buy-side (investment banking, private equity, M&A advisory, corporate development, or business brokerage).
- A strong understanding of deal mechanics—valuation, LOIs, due diligence, purchase agreements, and closing processes.
- A closer’s mentality. You are motivated by getting deals done and are comfortable being measured on outcomes.
- Genuine empathy for business owners and the ability to build trust quickly. You understand that for many owners, this is the biggest financial decision of their lives.
- Comfort with technology and data-driven workflows. You don’t need to be a developer, but you should be excited to use software tools daily and provide thoughtful feedback on how to make them better.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can translate complex deal dynamics into clear, actionable guidance for owners and buyers.
