About the role

The Relief Operator works multiple positions in the Cheese Manufacturing operation. This position works 2nd shift on a 2-2-3 rotational schedule from 4pm to 4am.

Responsibilities

  • Relieves Table Operator: Monitors curd and whey removal, tests and measures parameters, operates Table equipment, weighs and measures salt, sets up, inspects, cleans, sanitizes tables and related equipment, troubleshoots, organizes, anticipates needs.
  • Relieves Packaging Operator: Operates Block forming Tower system, monitors vacuum levels, temp levels, and cheese block integrity, packages, metal detects, seals, weighs, boxes, palletizes 40 lb. blocks, cleans and sanitizes Packaging areas, operates Pallet Lift Truck.
  • Relieves Packaging and Shipping Operator: Identifies cheese and shipping requirements, uses scanner to track cheese through bar codes, completes work orders, builds and ships loads of cheese, creates by product work orders, moves inventory, performs pallet truck, elevator, and trailer inspections, monitors supply inventory, cleans and organizes Shipping areas, assists with Break Room cleaning, and performs miscellaneous janitorial functions.
  • Relieves Food Sanitation Team Member: Performs sanitation in all areas of the plant, primarily focused on the Cheese operation side, assists in other areas of plant as needed, operates foamer and sanitize chemical stations, works with bulk and point of use raw chemicals, performs chemical titration, and performs miscellaneous janitorial functions.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency required (GED).
  • Food manufacturing or sanitation experience, highly desirable.
  • Certified to operate motorized pallet trucks (will train and certify internally).
