Essential Job Duties
- Manage operation of the steam plant and air conditioning chiller system according to state laws through usage of a computer-based control system.
- Recharge chemical tanks.
- Recharge water softeners.
- Maintain boiler room physical condition: paint, sweep, mop, etc.
- Report equipment failure and changes in machinery status.
- Monitor Energy Management Systems (EMS) computer.
- Direct alarms to proper department.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing.
- Conduct heating plant inspections.
- Inspect equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Update relieving engineer of changes in plant status.
- Notify Chief Engineer of significant changes.
- Perform water tests.
- Record operating data.
- Maintain shift logbook as required.
- Transfer all needed data to new log sheets.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; First Class B Stationary Engineer License.
- Experience: 3+ years’ work experience with boiler operation and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: First Class A Operating Engineer License.
- Experience: Prior experience with a variety of power and hand tools.

- Basic skills in using standard office equipment and computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and database, or willingness to learn.
