About the role

The Reliability Technician ensures the safety, reliability, maintenance, and performance of production assets at Georgia-Pacific's gypsum facility in Sweetwater, TX. This position supports the facility's goals for quality and production by providing technical support for ongoing maintenance problems, new equipment, and project inspections/commissions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly vibration analysis
  • Provide technical support for ongoing maintenance problems, new equipment, and project inspections/commissioning
  • Develop and implement plans to improve reliability based on findings from investigations
  • Collaborate with various teams to enhance reliability program and determine appropriate corrective actions for each situation, such as replacing equipment or implementing new safety procedures
  • Analyze and identify potential causes of equipment failure to prevent future problems
  • Perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, moving between different levels, lifting objects up to 50 lbs. from ground level, manually transporting loads up to 75 lbs., and applying up to 100-foot pounds of torque
  • Work at different heights, with potential tasks performed in standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling positions

Requirements

  • Experience in vibration monitoring, calibration, and using precision alignment tools for vibration analysis
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system such as MOE, MP2
  • Experience utilizing computer software programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Degree in engineering, maintenance, or related field
  • Certificate of Level 1 or Level 2 Vibration Analysis
  • Prior Gypsum manufacturing experience

Qualifications

  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system such as MOE, MP2
  • Experience utilizing computer software programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Degree in engineering, maintenance, or related field
  • Certificate of Level 1 or Level 2 Vibration Analysis
  • Prior Gypsum manufacturing experience

Pay

This role starts at $36/hour with a $500 sign-on bonus. Relocation benefits may be available.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, with overtime weekends and Holidays as needed.
