About the role

The Reliability Engineer II position builds upon foundational reliability engineering responsibilities, taking greater ownership of specific reliability and maintenance programs. This role independently leads initiatives to optimize machine operating time, improve uptime and reliability, and reduce the failure rate of equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe and clean work environment where safety is the highest priority and embedded in our culture.
  • Manage a Failure Reporting, Analysis, and corrective Action System (FRACAS) process, including weekly downtime reporting and monthly FRACAS meetings with action plans for high downtime assets affecting OEE.
  • Manage the preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including PM Optimization reviews, criticality assessments, predictive routes, NDT, and precision maintenance best practices.
  • Manage the lubrication process to improve OEE of critical assets.
  • Develop action plans for improving machine lubrication practices.
  • Manage lubrication sampling program, including developing and tracking plans for out-of-spec asset lubrication.
  • Manage machine lubrication technician position and audit program performance.
  • Develop annual and 5-year workforce development plans.
  • Maintain and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department.
  • Audit maintenance practices and implement changes to improve performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and document workflows for maintenance processes (e.g., work request, work orders, planning, scheduling, purchase req's, work order completion).
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years demonstrated industrial manufacturing experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process.
  • 2+ years of plant maintenance experience
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance and reliability improvement
  • Able to be certified in Level 1 Thermography, Vibration Analysis 1 and Machinery Lubrication Technician 1 within 2 years of employment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, thermal imaging, Oil Analysis, Non-destructive testing, and laser alignment
  • Knowledge of probability and statistical modeling, and prediction reliability tools
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication
  • Advanced proficiency using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Knowledge of and experience using Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tools & techniques used in Oil Analysis, Thermography, and Ultrasound
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance analysis processes including asset criticality assessments, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and PM optimization
  • Knowledge of precision maintenance technologies for assembling and maintaining machinery to tight tolerances
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Awareness of operational processes and how maintenance activities can impact them
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedure
