Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products.
  • Define the test methods and product requirements needed to develop durable, disruptive, and market-leading products.
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs.
  • Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts.
  • Interact with global suppliers that participate in product development.
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process.
  • Develop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirements.
  • Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratories.
  • Perform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data.
  • Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions.
  • Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related engineering field with 2-5 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality roles.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as design of experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW).
  • Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++).
  • Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international).
