Reliability Engineer II
U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD Secret security clearance. An active and existing security clearance is required from day one.
About the role
This onsite position in Woburn, MA focuses on the Reliability Engineer discipline within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) Long Range Radars department. Life Cycle Engineering ensures products are safe, reliable, maintainable, and delivered on time, supporting the total life cycle from conception to deactivation. The role involves both Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Engineering and Failure Reporting Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct RAM analyses, including reliability and maintainability predictions.
- Perform Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses.
- Generate Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and system models.
- Define and allocate RAM requirements.
- Review field failure data and assess performance using metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Critical Failure (MTBCF), and Operational Availability (Ao).
- Interpret data and analyze results to ensure performance compliance to requirements.
- Assist in maintaining FMECAs and RBDs.
- Provide RAM input and support to program meetings, including Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
- Work cross-functionally with Sustainment, Site, and other Life Cycle Engineering teams.
- Support the proposal process by developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RAM work.
- Track Earned Value (EV) and provide accurate status updates on schedule and budget for RAM scope.
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with Failure Analysis, Reliability, and/or FRACAS Engineering concepts.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Reliability Engineering concepts, including reliability and maintainability predictions, FMECA/FDFI, RBDs, MTBF/MTBCF, and Ao.
- Electrical Engineering experience or degree/education preferred.
- Task leadership or project management experience, familiarity with Earned Value concepts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to present technical material to audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
