About the Role
Join our Engineering Team at Milwaukee Tool, where we empower engineers to create disruptive technologies and solutions. As a Reliability Engineer II, you will contribute to the development of batteries, motors, and electronics that power innovative tools. This role is based at our Corporate & Global Design Headquarters in Brookfield, WI, and involves working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment to launch new products that meet user needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams for new product designs and engineering changes, focusing on product reliability, user requirements, and warranty information.
- Identify and isolate "critical to quality" (CtQ) user need requirements for mechanical and electrical design features, including all product component interactions.
- Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and Milwaukee Tool’s development process.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering on project teams, leading reliability and testing efforts.
- Develop test plans and procedures for new or established products to ensure they meet customer requirements.
- Collaborate with test laboratories to implement test plans and procedures, ensuring full test completion and best practices.
- Analyze product data using statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis, reliability distributions, and matrices, and present findings.
- Draw concise, logical, written conclusions from experiments based on data analysis.
- Ensure timely failure reporting, root cause analysis, and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or an equivalent field.
- 2-5 years of experience in reliability and quality engineering and/or statistical engineering.
- Experience with new product development processes, including testing design, manufacturing audits, quality assurance, test engineering, or reliability and warranty prediction.
- Experience with test development, specification creation, quality engineering fundamentals, and leading a primary function within a project team.
- Proficiency with Design of Experiments (Six Sigma preferred), life data analysis, and statistical tools/software (e.g., Minitab, Reliasoft).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE) or the ability and desire to achieve certification.
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Six Sigma experience.
- Python experience.
