Reliability Engineer*
About the role
The Plant Engineering Reliability Engineer position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military experience to a 3M career. This role is part of the plant engineering/maintenance team dedicated to ensuring all assets perform at the highest level of performance.
Responsibilities
- Outline a comprehensive and analytical approach to predict, prevent, eliminate or reduce equipment failures through application of current reliability techniques.
- Design and implement reliability improvement standards, on-going training and education, and equipment modifications in order to achieve world-class maintenance reliability.
- Manage and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) detailing the results of the reliability programs activities.
- Provide leadership support for Maintenance Conscious Engineering strategies.
- Perform & document equipment criticality analysis in support of an effective critical spares strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) combined years of experience in maintenance, engineering, manufacturing and/or plant engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Electrical/Control Engineering or Electro/Mechanical Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Ability to communicate, both written and oral, technical information to a diverse audience
- Professional reliability credentials such as: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician
- Experience with reliability analysis, predictive (PdM), and preventative maintenance (PM)
- A high level of understanding and ability to use analytical tools and troubleshooting
Skills
- Ability to communicate, both written and oral, technical information to a diverse audience
- Professional reliability credentials such as: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician
- Experience with reliability analysis, predictive (PdM), and preventative maintenance (PM)

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
Schedule
On-site at Cottage Grove, MN. May include up to 5% domestic/international travel.
Qualifications
