About the role
Join us at The Good Bread Company where you'll own equipment health and quick, high-quality repairs to minimize downtime. Execute and improve the Preventive Maintenance program with an eye toward reducing unplanned stops. Diagnose issues by analyzing technical data, manuals, and schematics; apply effective fixes. Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery and facility support systems.
Responsibilities
- Own equipment health and quick, high-quality repairs to minimize downtime.
- Execute and improve the Preventive Maintenance program with an eye toward reducing unplanned stops.
- Diagnose issues by analyzing technical data, manuals, and schematics; apply effective fixes.
- Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery and facility support systems.
- Inspect, operate, and test equipment to pinpoint faults and confirm completed repairs.
- Work safely—follow all company safety policies, LOTO, and standard procedures at all times.
- Adhere to GMPs, personal and food safety standards, and OSHA requirements.
- Troubleshoot PLC-driven equipment and plant systems: motors, instrumentation, power distribution, and feed control; implement sustainable solutions.
- Close work orders on time; keep thorough records in software, work orders, and logs; communicate clearly across departments.
- Assist with changeovers and line startups; resolve issues quickly to hit production targets.
- Identify needed parts, maintain inventory accuracy, and manage reorder lists.
- Safeguard product quality—everything we ship meets our highest standard.
- Contribute to continuous improvement; share ideas and collaborate on team projects.
- Service boilers, water heaters, conditioning equipment, and site water distribution.
- Monitor the main electrical panel and troubleshoot as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- 3–5 years of hands-on electrical work.
- 2–3 years in a bakery environment is a plus.
- Basic machining skills and experience with industrial electrical control wiring.
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatics, light industrial food production machinery, and packaging equipment.
- Metal fabrication and welding capabilities.
- Proficiency bending conduit.
- Knowledge of relay logic.
- Experience working with 480v–208v systems.
- Familiarity with the NEC Code.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills.
- Tools and systems you’ll use: HVAC Systems, ERP Software, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Conveyor Systems, Servo Motors.
Skills
