About the role
The Centralized Release Project Manager supports modernization projects during the front-end execution phase. Key responsibilities include project setup, submittals, material coordination, and order accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from contract award through material release, ensuring all upfront requirements are completed accurately and on schedule
- Coordinate and prepare technical submittals, drawings, and documentation required for material release
- Validate scope, configuration, and order accuracy to ensure alignment with contract documents and Otis standards
- Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Estimating, and Field Operations to resolve scope gaps and technical questions prior to release
- Ensure material orders are complete, accurate, and released in accordance with project schedules and internal milestones
- Proactively identify risks, inconsistencies, or missing information that could impact downstream execution
- Track progress against key upfront deliverables and provide clear status updates to internal stakeholders
- Maintain organized and accurate project documentation within Otis systems
- Support standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 2+ years of project management experience in the elevator, construction, or related technical field
- Elevator/escalator industry experience preferred
- Working knowledge of construction documents, submittals, and material procurement
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process adherence
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative, team-focused approach across functions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (Excel preferred)
- Self-driven, analytical, and comfortable in milestone-based environments
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
