Key Responsibilities

  • Manage implementation and code promotion across multiple testing and production environments during the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Development and Quality teams to enhance the build/test environment and related processes.
  • Perform initial debugging to identify automation failures and assign them to the appropriate teams.
  • Design and implement a reliable build/test automation framework.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across Development and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Own and manage the release process into QA, including scheduling and release notes.
  • Oversee software releases to customers, including patches and maintenance updates.
  • Maintain and manage release and development branches within the code repository to ensure code consistency.
  • Determine appropriate timing for creating release branches and enforce branch management policies and best practices.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Perform basic IT infrastructure tasks (hardware, network, and software configuration).
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, networking, multithreading, and enterprise storage is a strong plus.
  • Enforce acceptance criteria for turnover packages, including code and documentation.
  • Schedule and conduct releases, ensuring timely stakeholder notifications.
  • Support after-hours software releases as needed.
  • Contribute to the refinement of configuration management (CM) policies and procedures.
  • Communicate CM methodologies to development teams.
  • Troubleshoot software issues across all environments.
  • Monitor and review system and event logs routinely to identify potential issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA degree OR 6 years with an MS/MA degree.
  • Proven experience in a release management role within an enterprise IT program.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, plan, and schedule the rollout of IT services, updates, and production releases.
