Responsibilities
- Conduct initial walk-throughs and background checks to place children in Kinship homes upon entering foster care.
- Specialize in and coordinate the search for and engagement with family and Non-Related Kin (NRKIN).
- Search for adults using information from parents, youth, other team members, and files, utilizing search websites, social media, and various family-finding tools.
- Begin the search when a youth enters foster care and continue throughout the life of the case until supportive adults can be located.
- Once support is identified, contact them to discuss ways they may be willing to stay connected to the youth and/or family and assist them.
- Pass all identified connections to the case team.
- Assist case managers with introducing supportive adults or family-finding concepts to the case team.
- Work with the case team to locate additional relative or NRKIN resources to assist the parent with managing the requirements of the case plan and making additional connections.
- Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.
