About the role
The Relationship Specialist II position at VyStar Credit Union offers a competitive compensation package including a 401(k) plan, extensive paid training, and tuition reimbursement. Part-time positions require a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide unbelievable member experiences during in-person and phone interactions, identifying member needs and positioning VyStar financial solutions.
- Identify member cues, ask open-ended discovery questions, and grow consumer and business relationships.
- Complete personal and business account transactions, open accounts, and process loan applications.
- Explain credit and savings options, and refer more complex products like mortgages, investments, and insurance.
- Offer additional services such as account maintenance, notarization, wire transfers, savings bond redemption, safe deposit box services, fraud claims, and credit card disputes.
- Participate in and support Credit Union initiatives and campaigns.
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion, maintaining compliance with established limits and guidelines.
- Work independently to accomplish tasks, demonstrating integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism.
- Exude a positive and professional attitude with members and partners, resolving member problems independently and escalating appropriately.
- Lead by example through community service, promoting the VyStar brand.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, managing opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Train and mentor new Relationship Specialists, leading branch initiatives, and proactively improving member experiences.
- Engage proactively with members through outbound calls, addressing needs and providing comprehensive solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a healthy risk culture and compliance with regulatory mandates.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required, Associate’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in sales and/or customer service, preferably with a financial institution.
- Proven top performance track record, demonstrated sales and/or sales leadership.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient in using the Internet and Microsoft Office.
- A genuine desire to help people, ability to ask probing questions and make recommendations.
- Proficiency in critical thinking to resolve escalated issues or deescalate concerns.
- May assist branch leadership as needed, achieving expert user status on credit union systems, applications, products, and services.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for sales are essential for success.
- Ability to stand throughout the shift to assist members or other staff.
Qualifications
