About the role
At the heart of our work with retirement plans for high-profile organizations is the desire to help individuals retire successfully. Multiple decision-makers are engaged in plan selection, enhancements and retention, requiring teamwork, strategic thinking and superior relationship management on various levels.
Responsibilities
- Establish, grow and retain profitable relationships with our small-sized plan sponsors, advisor/consultants, third-party administrators and other service providers.
- Lead the integrated service team by coordinating home office support functions and additional resources to grow and retain key relationships.
- Develop and execute a strategic business plan for each client that takes into consideration the goals and objectives of the client and aligns with the objectives and capabilities of Nationwide and other service providers.
- Support small plan sales acquisition through positioning our service model and the benefits to the plan sponsor and plan participants.
- Manage client onboarding process including familiarizing the plan sponsor with Nationwide tools and services and partners with implementation team to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Share and position the Nationwide story and drive capabilities/feature adoption that increase plan efficiency and improve client experience.
- Develop and implement plan participant servicing strategies in partnership with plan sponsors to drive participant engagement and retirement readiness.
- Represent the client voice in product and service development and enhancements.
Requirements
The highest concentration of clients are located in California, and living in the PST zone is strongly preferred. Having bilingual skills (Spanish) is desirable.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate studies in business or finance or related fields preferred.
- FINRA 6, 63, 65 (or 7/66) required.
- Associates must obtain the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit.
- Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented.
- Knowledge of the retirement plan business and 401k and 403b markets.
- Knowledge of products and related industry practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of ERISA, qualified plan design, recordkeeping, administration and plan investments and account implementation.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Ability to establish and grow key relationships with top clients.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, learning agility, time management, technical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to drive successful results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to synthesize multiple data points to continually develop retention and growth strategies in an ever-changing environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
