Relationship Manager
About the role
SEI’s Wealth business is expanding its Sales & Client Team to accelerate growth. This role focuses on engaging and growing SEI’s current advisor-client base within the independent Broker/Dealer channel, driving relationship activation, share-of-wallet growth, and retention. The Relationship Manager will oversee the total client experience, including business development, relationship management, and account management, while meeting and exceeding territory growth goals. This position reports to the Managing Director of the West Region and works cross-functionally with Marketing, Investment, Technology, and Service teams. The role may be territory-based in the West Region or based at SEI Headquarters, covering strategic relationships across the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development, client relationship, and territory management for existing advisor-client firms in the independent broker/dealer channel.
- Proactively engage advisor-client relationships to increase engagement and satisfaction, including training, business updates, investment strategy design, consultative consulting, pricing negotiation, and service experience.
- Execute SEI’s consultative and collaborative relationship management and sales processes to unlock SEI’s full suite of solutions, grow share-of-wallet, win new accounts, and retain assets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, shaping and implementing collaborative sales growth plans.
- Master SEI’s Asset Management offering to drive adoption of investment strategies and solutions.
- Generate new interest and prospective client leads to contribute to inorganic growth.
- Use data to drive decisions, define growth opportunities, and solve client needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services client sales and service support; direct experience in independent broker/dealer channel sales strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or credentials (MBA and/or CFP®) preferred.
- Current NASAA Series 65 or Series 66 license to qualify as an investment advisor representative (IAR), or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Strong knowledge of advisor custody and technology platforms, with experience influencing business owners in this channel.
- Experience with multi-channel communication, including face-to-face interactions, in-person and virtual presentations, live/recorded video, phone, and email.
- Ability to influence decision-making at the highest organizational levels with a client-first mindset and consultative sales background.
- Exceptional time-management, organizational skills, and a track record of exceeding goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client relationship management and buyer satisfaction.
- Self-starter and influencer with experience working independently and collaboratively.
- Territory management responsibilities with up to 25% travel potential.
