About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Relationship Manager with deep, firsthand expertise administering DC, 401K/plans, Profit Sharing, and/or 403(b) plans. This includes managing day-to-day administration, ensuring compliance with IRS and DOL regulations, and being the point of reference for clients and advisors.
This role is a mix of technical accuracy, strong client service, and initiative-taking communication. You will not only administer plans but build lasting relationships by putting others first and taking pride in your work from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer a portfolio of 401(k), 403(b), and profit-sharing plans from start to finish each year.
- Review and interpret plan documents, perform compliance testing, calculate contributions, and prepare annual government filings such as Form 5500.
- Reconcile plan assets and ensure data is complete and accurate.
- Act as the primary point of contact for your clients and their advisors, building trust and offering guidance.
- Provide audit support for large plans and collaborate with CPAs and auditors.
- Mentor junior team members and offer technical support within the team.
- Help new clients onboard, working with our implementation team to ensure a smooth transition.
- Participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives.
- Stay informed of changes in regulations and best practices.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with clients, while always remaining open to learning.
- Collaborate with plan vendors to support smooth operations, resolve issues, and keep plan data and services up to date.
- Celebrate milestones, complete projects with care, and recognize team wins.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience administering retirement plans, including understanding of pooled plan provider structures, participating employer coordination, and related compliance requirements.
- 8–10+ years of experience administering defined contribution plans, with extensive experience.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
- Direct experience with annual compliance testing, contribution calculations, plan reconciliation, and Form 5500 preparation.
- Able to read and interpret complex plan documents.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- High diligence and accuracy.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with industry-specific software.
- Professional, dependable, and client-focused.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as QKA, QPA, CPC, or ERPA.
- Familiarity with CalcAir (Datair), FT Williams, or PensionPro.
- Experience supporting clients undergoing plan audits.
- Knowledge of plan design strategies and consulting experience.
- Active involvement in professional organizations such as ASPPA or NIPA.
