About the role
The Relationship Banking Group Assistant (RBGA) provides support to Relationship Bankers (RBs), prepares, closes, and disburses loan documents, and assists customers. May also assist indirect loan customers.
Responsibilities
- Assists RBs with new loan requests, renewals, and annual reviews.
- Acts as the contact person between the RB and the customer, guiding them through the loan process, including gathering required information and documentation, assisting with credit applications, and collecting fees.
- Supports RBs with the loan closing process, completes closed loan packages for submission to loan operations, and verifies required documentation.
- Ensures all loan documentation is current, accurately loaded according to approved terms, and that lien perfecting documents are executed and recorded.
- Assists RBs with portfolio management, including working the maturing loan report and collateral/financial statement exception reports.
- Provides customer service to external sources such as attorneys, accountants, and insurance companies via electronic and oral communication.
- Supports RBs in managing their loan portfolio to help them meet sales obligations outside the Bank.
- Communicates effectively with internal customers and banking areas, including upper approving authorities like the Senior RB, Regional Senior Credit Officer, Chief Credit Officer, and other Executives.
- Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change with or without notice.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Two years of banking or related experience.
- Good communication skills (written and oral) for effective interaction with departments and customers.
- Organized, efficient, proactive, and capable of multitasking.
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-high school education or more than 2 years of related experience.
- Prior banking experience.
Work Environment
- Professional office environment.
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Prolonged periods working at a desk.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
