About the role

This role is a banking professional that plays a vital role in bringing TD's human, relationship-driven banking experience to life by cultivating and sustaining client relationships through delivering personalized banking solutions. This role is accountable for acquiring new clients and deepening existing relationships through consultative engagement, needs-based guidance supported by deep product knowledge and disciplined execution while upholding TD's risk and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates and sustains long-term client relationships through leads management and outbound efforts in a bank location; responsible for identifying opportunities that deepen client relationships to help clients meet their financial objectives.
  • Proactively engages in client conversations with curiosity, actively listening and accurately capturing information while leveraging TD systems and tools to identify appropriate client solutions and next best actions, ensuring consistent follow-through across all client commitments, including partner hand-offs.
  • Consistently leads client engagement across walk-in, appointment, and outbound opportunities, establishing credibility and deepening relationships. Leads purposeful, goals-based discovery with confidence, uncovering both expressed and unexpressed client needs through advanced questioning and active listening.
  • Applies strong banking and financial knowledge to interpret client needs and validate understanding. Provides clear, tailored guidance on a broader range of products and services, explaining options, benefits, and risks with confidence to support informed client decisions.
  • Delivers advanced, needs-based guidance and manages more complex client scenarios ensuring recommendations reflect a holistic understanding of client goals and financial position while driving partner collaboration and ensuring effective execution of referrals.
  • Serves as a client advocate, anticipating clients' needs to build and maintain deeper client relationships through ongoing engagement, personalized guidance, and proactive outreach.
  • Engages clients on mortgage products, accepting mortgage inquiries, referring clients for mortgage solutions, or other residential lending activities.
  • Champions the client experience by ensuring continuity, follow-through, and strong connection to TD’s broader network of expertise.
  • Adheres to and reinforces all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate documentation, strong risk awareness, and protection of the client and the Bank.
  • Accountable for delivering a welcoming, personalized client experience by actively engaging in meaningful discovery that builds trust and establishes credibility.
  • Serves as the primary point of accountability for client concerns, resolving issues end-to-end where possible and ensuring timely escalation when required.
  • Leads client acquisition, retention, and relationship growth for the bank location by proactively identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and improve client outcomes.
  • Applies sound judgment to balance client needs with risk and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate capture of client information and alignment to policies.
  • Consistently brings TD’s brand and client strategy to life through every interaction, reinforcing a differentiated, relationship-led experience.
  • Maintains compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations to minimize risk and protect the client.
  • Acts as a trusted first point of contact in safeguarding the integrity of the client relationship by operating within compliance of AML laws and regulatory requirements, accurately verifying client identification, maintaining data integrity, and following established authentication and documentation standards.
  • Identifies potential discrepancies, material changes, or risk indicators and escalates appropriately in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Acts in accordance with TD's code of conduct and ethical standards in every decision.
  • Exercises sound judgment in more complex scenarios, identifying risks, resolving issues, and escalating as appropriate.
  • Acts as a team leader to monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities.
  • Completes required training and continuously strengthens risk and compliance knowledge.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment by aligning to TD Model, Brand, and Culture by participating fully as a member of the team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 2+ years of experience engaging clients in a sales, service, or relationship-building capacity, including identifying needs and delivering solutions.
  • Prior experience in a banking environment, including teller, platform, or relationship banking roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct consultative client conversations, including uncovering needs and recommending appropriate products and services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and confidently to diverse client populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, independently organize work, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills in client-facing and operational scenarios.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar workplace technologies.
  • Ability to complete required job-related training upon hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) as required for the role.
  • Notary License (or ability to obtain) preferred.
  • Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36.
  • Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry) in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C.5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007.
  • Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority, are required by federal law for this position.
