Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for customers, connecting with them to understand their needs and match them with First United Bank products and services.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and appropriate regulatory issues.
- Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs.
- Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products offered by the bank.
- Process routine customer transactions, including balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy.
- Resolve customer complaints, problems, or issues proactively.
- Manage cash drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and perform vault duties.
- Review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports on a daily basis.
- Perform security functions by opening and closing bank and vault, ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds.
- Master the Primary Purpose and Essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is strongly preferred.
- Some college education is strongly preferred.
- One year of retail experience is preferred.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Superior customer service skills are required.
- Basic mathematical skills to solve problems.
- The ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- The ability to use good judgment and exercise decision-making skills.
- The ability to multi-task.
- A professional attitude and appearance.
- To behave ethically while at work or outside the work environment.
- The ability to actively listen and give full attention to what other people are saying.
