Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for customers, connecting with them to understand their needs and matching them with First United Bank products and services.
- Mentor employees to do the same, fostering a culture of care and trust.
- Establish and cultivate strong personal connections with customers, providing personalized service that creates customer loyalty.
- Master First United Bank’s delivery process and product knowledge to consistently meet and exceed performance goals.
- Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities.
- Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
- Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products offered by the bank.
- Assist customers with routine questions and requests, such as balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy.
- Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors, including accepting checks for cash and deposit, money orders, savings bonds, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, and accepting and processing payments for loans and other services.
- Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties, verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and prove cash drawer upon completion of assigned shift to ensure compliance with First United Bank standards and policies.
- Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues.
- Review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports on a daily basis, assisting customers with account charge-off repayment plans.
- Perform security functions by opening and closing bank and vault, ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds.
- Resolve proof discrepancies as needed.

Requirements
- A high school diploma is strongly preferred.
- Some college education is strongly preferred.
- One year of retail experience is preferred.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Superior customer service skills are required.
- Basic mathematics to solve problems is required.
- The ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co-workers is required.
- The ability to manage time effectively and work independently, without close supervision, is required.
- The ability to use good judgment and exercise decision-making skills is required.
- The ability to multi-task is required.
- The ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance is required.
- The ability to behave ethically while at work or outside your work environment is required.
- The ability to actively listen to customers and colleagues is required.
