About the Initiative

The Umbria Regional Government, in collaboration with Arpal Umbria and INAIL, has approved a convention to implement integrated and personalized actions for the employment integration of individuals with work-related disabilities. This initiative aims to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation to ensure dignified employment and tailored integration pathways for all individuals with work-related disabilities.

The convention emphasizes sharing information and experiences among entities while awaiting the full activation of the National Targeted Employment Database. This collaboration seeks to enhance the integrated service network, ensuring timely and coordinated interventions to facilitate job retention and reintegration for individuals who became disabled due to work-related injuries or illnesses, even if they are not registered under Law 68/1999.

Key Actions

  • Development of personalized support actions, coordinated with employment services and local agencies, to promote job retention and new employment opportunities through individualized projects.
  • Use of shared methodologies and tools among involved entities to ensure effective and tailored reintegration pathways.
  • Progressive elimination of architectural barriers in workplaces and adaptation of workstations to meet the needs of workers with disabilities.
  • Strengthening the dissemination of a culture that supports the right to work and the employment integration of individuals with disabilities through informational materials and participation in cultural events.

Roles of Involved Entities

  • Regione Umbria (via Arpal and Employment Centers): Enhancing its role in promoting and protecting employment and vocational training, with a focus on targeted employment for individuals with disabilities.
  • INAIL: Providing expertise, data, and tools to support functional recovery, autonomy, and the reintegration of injured workers into professional and social life.
