About the role

The 2026 Universal Civil Service call for applications has been officially opened in Umbria, offering 1,119 positions for young people who wish to participate in widespread and diversified projects throughout the region.

Program structure

The regional Civil Service system is strengthening and expanding participation and training opportunities. In Umbria, there are 64 programs and 124 projects active, thanks to 40 program-holding entities, 285 host entities, and 473 operational offices distributed across the territory.

Opportunities for those with fewer opportunities

Special attention is given to young people with fewer opportunities: 218 positions are reserved for those facing economic difficulties, low education levels, or other vulnerabilities, of which 195 are for young people with an ISEE below €15,000 and 18 for those with low educational attainment.

Compensation

The monthly allowance for all volunteers has been increased compared to last year and will be €519.47.

Statement from the Councillor for Youth Policies

Councillor Fabio Barcaioli recalls that civil service "is an opportunity to invest in new generations and social cohesion. Participating means challenging oneself, collaborating with associations and local authorities, and strengthening bonds of solidarity within communities."

Career development

• All volunteers can participate in a work orientation pathway lasting one to three months at the end of the service
• Volunteers who complete the experience without demerit are entitled to a 15% reservation of positions in public competitions

Councillor's closing remarks

"The emphasis on tutoring and measures dedicated to the most vulnerable invites each participant to discover their own inclinations and develop transversal skills that go beyond the individual project. The experience thus becomes a space in which to test abilities, confront new situations, and define future choices, both professionally and personally."
