Responsibilities
- Develops and participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities, supporting quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
- Captures and inputs data from regular chart audits and reviews for accurate and timely completion, educating the clinical team and coaching individuals to ensure regulatory and content compliance with clinical documentation.
- Assists in daily operations, including active involvement in clinical and service rounding, developing and delivering clinical content at staff meetings, conducting staff meetings, and completing management reports.
- Investigates, responds to complaints, and assists in scheduling clinicians and techs to meet patient needs.
- Serves as a clinical resource for physicians, stakeholders, patients, and staff, escalating issues as appropriate to their leader.
- Oversees the care provided by Clinical and support staff, ensuring compliance with established regulations and practice standards.
- Interviews, hires, and orients clinical staff, completing clinical competencies and performance appraisals with new hires and each rehab staff member.
- Promotes evidence-based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/clinical instruction, and/or clinical practice education within a peer group.
Requirements
- Commitment to patient-oriented practice
- Basic competence in computer skills to include EMR experience, Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English
- Problem-solving ability
- Ability to organize, communicate, and implement departmental goals and program objectives within the perspective of a healthcare organization's Mission and Values
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a healthcare-related field [Preferred]
- 1+ years as a licensed and treating occupational, physical, or speech therapist [Required]
- Licenses and certifications:
- Occupational Therapist (OT) [Required]
- Physical Therapist (PT) [Required]
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
Skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
