Responsibilities

  • Performs accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations and treatments
  • Provides training, direction and guidance for subordinate rehab staff
  • Writes accurate, complete and clear documentation
  • Ensures the timely evaluation and treatment of patients in the most effective and efficient manner possible
  • Oversees risk management operations for the Rehab department in the facility
  • Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources including billing accurately for services provided
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in rehabilitation or in a long-term care setting preferred
  • Valid and current Occupational Therapy license or equivalent, in the state of Ohio
  • Current CPR certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Able to follow directions
  • Able to perform patient transport and safe lifting techniques (up to 50 lbs)
  • Able to observe and document patient reactions to treatment accurately
  • Able to lift and carry equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Able to use proper body mechanics
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with members of the rehabilitation team
  • Able to perform patient care tasks as determined by the OTR/RPT to help patients achieve therapy goals
  • Able to safely transport patients to and from therapy and other activities
  • Able to recognize patient reactions to treatment and follow instructions accurately

Qualifications

  • Degree in rehabilitation, healthcare, or a related field

Skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Patient transport and safe lifting techniques (up to 50 lbs)
  • Observation and basic documentation
  • Reliability, teamwork, and time management
