Responsibilities

  • Works with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community living, including:
    • Independent living skills (shopping, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and transportation)
    • Socialization (enhancing social and/or romantic relationships, recreational and leisure pursuits that contribute to community integration)
    utilizing deliberate and consistent skills training, such as staff demonstration, working side by side, facilitating groups, client practice/roleplaying, staff feedback, prompting, and cueing.
  • Participates in the Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP) process by drafting, re-framing, and finalizing IRPs in collaboration with the client.
  • Monitors clients’ medications, ensuring compliance with medical regimen.
  • Coordinates comprehensive care to assigned clients.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and working knowledge of specific patient population served (e.g., children and adolescents or adults with mental disorders).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; BA/BS in Human Service and/or related area preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant student, volunteer, or work experience.
  • Ability to obtain additional certifications/trainings as required by certain programs (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Infection Control, Food Safety and Handling, and Crisis Intervention/Suicidal Protocol).
  • Orientation period required to obtain familiarity with behavioral rehabilitation methods, procedures, program policies, and specific patient population.
  • Valid state driver's license with 3 or fewer points at time of hire. Certain programs and positions may require access to a vehicle during working hours for work-related duties, including transporting clients as necessary. Vehicle insurance must name the employee as an insured driver when access to a vehicle is required.
  • Ability to physically assist clients with daily tasks.
  • Ability to establish rapport and assist clients in identifying their own needs (e.g., self-care skills, social skills, independent living skills, medication management, health—mental and somatic, entitlements, and vocational) to establish appropriate rehabilitation goals and provide internal and/or community referrals when necessary.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including day, evening, weekend hours, and holidays.

Pay

$19.31 per hour
