Rehabilitation Services Associate
About the role
The individual will function as a paraprofessional in providing assistance to counseling and supervisory staff in the Charleston Office. The position is located in the Charleston Branch Office.
Responsibilities
- Assisting counselors for general and school territories through a variety of casework and direct services.
- Developing new referrals, orienting prospective consumers, and conveying consumers' rights and responsibilities.
- Facilitating intakes and arranging medical and vocational evaluations at the direction of the counselor of record.
- Service coordination including employment services, job placement assistance, and follow-up.
- Assisting with consumer contacts.
- Performing fiscal and/or clerical duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
- Conveying information about rehabilitation services and the process to the public and/or applicants to promote the agency.
- Frequent travel may be required to meet with consumers and for public presentations, so a valid driver's license and transportation are required.
- Using computer skills for input into electronic case management to assist with documentation.
Requirements
- Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in paraprofessional or clerical office support work that includes the application of state and federal laws and/or guidelines.
- Substitution: Successful completion of coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of thirty (30) semester hours of training for every one (1) year of experience.
- Special Requirement: A valid driver’s license is required.
