Rehab Therapy Technician - Rehabilitation Hospital

About the role

This position provides indirect and direct patient care within the rehabilitation environment. The incumbent assists in the management of the physical environment including, but not limited to, cleaning of gym space and equipment, ordering of supplies, basic maintenance of equipment, patient scheduling, and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the management of the physical environment including, but not limited to, cleaning of gym space and equipment, ordering of supplies, basic maintenance of equipment, patient scheduling, and clerical duties.
• Supports the therapy department by providing continuity of business operations, support functions, and direct patient care functions under the supervision of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Therapy Leadership.
• Transports of equipment and supplies.
• Assists therapists with patient mobility and activities of daily living as directed by the licensed therapists, transporting of patients for speech studies, and assisting with feeding patients during speech exams.
• Performs basic maintenance and cleaning of various therapy equipment items, including cleaning and reprocessing endoscopes.
• Accurately maintains comprehensive quality assurance standards related to sterilization and infection control.
• Set-up and assist with diagnostic studies.
• Perform high level disinfection and reprocessing of endoscopes.
• Assist in scheduling and check in/check out procedures for patient appointments/schedules.
• Taking and recording vital signs as directed by the licensed therapist.

Requirements

• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Current BLS certification by The American Heart Association standards.
• Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
