Rehab Therapy Technician - Outpatient Therapy

About the role

This position provides indirect and direct patient care within the rehabilitation environment. The incumbent assists in the management of the physical environment including, but not limited to, cleaning of gym space and equipment, ordering of supplies, basic maintenance of equipment, patient scheduling, and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the management of the physical environment including, but not limited to, cleaning of gym space and equipment, ordering of supplies, basic maintenance of equipment, patient scheduling, and clerical duties.
• Supports the therapy staff by transporting of equipment and supplies, performing clerical responsibilities, ordering and stocking of therapy supplies, assisting therapists with patient mobility and activities of daily living as directed by the licensed therapists, assisting with higher level balance activities, as directed by the licensed therapists, directing patients in therapeutic exercises/activities as directed by the licensed therapist, setting up and assisting with diagnostic studies, performing high level disinfection and reprocessing of endoscopes, accurately maintaining comprehensive quality assurance standards related to sterilization and infection control, setting-up and performance of therapeutic modalities (including Mechanical Traction, Electrical Stimulation, and Paraffin), as directed by the licensed therapist, performing basic maintenance and cleaning of various therapy equipment, assisting in scheduling and check in/check out procedures for patient appointments/schedules, taking and recording vital signs as directed by the licensed therapist.
• Works independently in a fast-paced and high-intensity atmosphere, multi-tasks, takes initiative, prioritizes duties, and communicates effectively.

Requirements

• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Current BLS certification by The American Heart Association standards.
• Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
