Rehab Therapy Clinical Intern

Responsibilities

• Aiding with various indirect patient-related activities.
• Serving as a support for process improvement projects to meet Joint Commission standards.
• Placing department supply orders.
• Routing medical documents as needed.
• Cleaning, sterilizing, and performing general housekeeping duties.
• Transporting materials as necessary.
• Creating patient education materials.
• Performing other miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently accepted or enrolled in a college or university, healthcare career path preferred.
• GPA of 3.0 or above and in good standing.
• Completion of Parkview’s Patient Care Foundations course within 60 days of hire.
• CPR certification at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association.
• Strong computer skills and applications.
• Active engagement in a continuous learning environment.
• Reliable and trustworthy team member.
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently and assist with 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED, or enrollment in a work development class (ICE program or equivalent).
• If a nursing student, must be currently enrolled in an accredited ASN or BSN program.
• Current CPR BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in direct patient care through work and/or school programs preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computer skills and applications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
