About the role
The Rehabilitation Technician III supports training of newly hired staff, assists with documentation, specializes in specific healthcare needs, monitors and ensures safety 24/7, establishes collaborative relationships, helps build skills for problem-solving, communication, and independence, monitors vitals, promotes positive behavior, attends medical appointments, oversees medication needs, and connects clients with community opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a mentor to Rehab. Tech. I and II staff.
- Trains newly hired staff.
- Assists with documentation for various business purposes.
- Specializes in specific healthcare needs as assigned by program manager.
- Maintains safety 24/7, including eyes-on monitoring, one-on-one checks, and 15- or 30-minute checks.
- Prevents, intervenes, and resolves crises.
- Fosters collaborative relationships through consistent and meaningful communication.
- Assists clients in problem-solving, communication, and independence.
- Supports clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Monitors and assists with bowel and bladder programs, feeding (G-tubes), wound care, and transfers.
- Promotes positive behavior.
- Attends and relays medical appointments and information.
- Oversees client medication needs.
- Connects clients with community opportunities.
Requirements
- Certification as a CNA or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution of higher learning (preferred).
- High School Diploma or G.E.D with two years of experience, or one year as an HNNR Rehab. Tech. and completion of all HNNR Core and Advanced Medical Rehab Tech Skills requirements.
- One year experience as a Hope Network Rehabilitation Technician or two years of experience in a human service agency.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid.
- Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations.
- Basic computer skills.
