Rehab Technician I - Forest Glen 2 - [3rd shift, 16 hours]

About the role

The Rehabilitation Technician assists in the following areas of personal care and development: Safety, Relationship Building, Activities and Daily Living, Health, and Community Integration.

Responsibilities

• Safely monitors and ensures safety 24/7, which may involve eyes-on, one-on-one, 15 or 30 minute checks, etc.
• Prevents, intervenes, and resolves crises.
• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships based on trust and empathy through consistent and meaningful communication.
• Helps build effective skills for problem-solving, communication, and independence.
• Aids clients in identifying and participating in social and leisure interests, such as transporting/escorting to stores, concerts, movies, and in-house social events.
• Assists with Activities of Daily Living, including getting to and from places, cooking, dressing and undressing, bathing and showering, combing hair, trimming nails, restroom assistance, bowel and bladder programs, feeding (G-tubes), wound care, and transfers.
• Maintains health by monitoring vitals for any medical conditions or illnesses, promoting positive behavior, attending medical appointments, ensuring accurate information is relayed, and assisting in the implementation of care plans.
• Connects clients with community opportunities to develop relationships with others, supports employment, educational, and volunteer interests and goals.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma/GED.
• Have a valid driver’s license (preferred).
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Be able to obtain certification in CPR/First Aid.
• Show commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations.
• Have basic computer skills.
