Job Details
Hope Network's Neurological Rehabilitation department offers a supportive residential setting for patients recovering from brain or spinal cord injuries. As a Neuro Rehabilitation Technician, you will play a key role in fostering a positive, therapeutic atmosphere through person-centered care, promoting independence, self-confidence, and engagement in meaningful activities.
Responsibilities
- Aid in bathing, dressing, and toileting clients while respecting their privacy.
- Ensure clients adhere to dietary guidelines during mealtime.
- Help manage medications and provide basic wound, catheter, and colostomy bag care.
- Facilitate physical therapy and occupational therapy exercises under the guidance of therapists.
- Transport clients to medical appointments and monitor their participation and progress during activities.
- Work closely with rehabilitation therapists and other team members to integrate life enrichment activities into individualized treatment plans.
- Offer companionship and encouragement to support clients during their recovery.
- Promote clients' self-care abilities and provide a safe environment that fosters growth and development tailored to their current capabilities.
Requirements
- Health care experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid.
- Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations.
- Basic computer skills.
