About the role
The Rehabilitation Technician assists in the following areas of personal care and development: Safety, Relationship Building, Activities and Daily Living, Health, and Community Integration.
Responsibilities
- Safety: Monitors and ensures safety 24/7; this may be eyes-on, one-on-one, 15 or 30 minute checks, etc.
- Crisis Prevention, Intervention, and Resolution: Supports in preventing, intervening, and resolving crises.
- Relationship Building: Establishes collaborative relationships built on trust and empathy through consistent and meaningful communication.
- Activities and Daily Living: Helps build effective skills for problem-solving, communication, and independence; assists clients in social and leisure activities; supports ADLs including transportation, cooking, dressing, bathing, grooming, and transfers.
- Health: Monitors vitals for medical conditions or illnesses; promotes positive behavior; attends medical appointments and relays information; understands, reads, and implements care plans; documents accurately and timely.
- Community Integration: Connects clients with community opportunities; supports employment, educational, and volunteer goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid
- Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations
- Basic computer skills
