Rehab RN

About the role

Provide total adult and geriatric physical rehabilitation nursing care through a multi-disciplinary process resulting in the attainment of optimum quality of life for the patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients initially at admission and throughout the stay.
• Participate in plan of care and implementation with multi-disciplinary team.
• Document progress, goals, treatments, and education throughout the stay.
• Deliver and document direct quality patient care specific to Rehab Standards of Care.
• Prioritize and achieve patient goals and needs through analysis of assessments, shift reports, diagnostic test results, and other sources of information.
• Recognize potential or actual patient problems and respond appropriately.
• Participate in the improvement of care delivery through unit-based performance improvement committees and activities.
• Administer medications and intravenous fluids accurately and safely.
• Recognize and report medication events promptly with appropriate intervention when needed.
• Provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by understanding and abiding by Infection Control, Environment of Care policies, OSHA, and JCAHO standards.
• Demonstrate leadership through delegation of assignments to team members based on competency, skill level, and patient acuity.
• Participate in staff competency and advancement through involvement in Preceptor Program.
• Actively seek best practices to enhance clinical skills by attending seminars, classes, annual updates, and staff meetings.
• Promote consistent positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
• 1+ year(s) of experience in Physical Rehabilitation required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Licenses, Certifications, & Training

• Registered Nurse – Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation, or Valid Compact RN license required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
