Job Overview

We are seeking a core rehab aide to support acute care patient needs at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. This role is a great opportunity to learn more about rehabilitation services and assist all disciplines within rehabilitation services.

About the Role

This role involves providing patient transfers and transport, following proper procedures, transporting assigned patients safely and promptly, observing patient conditions during transport, reporting adverse symptoms, preparing, maintaining, and cleaning department/treatment areas, and assisting with orientation of new staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient transfers and transport
  • Fulfills patient transport duties in a safe and timely manner
  • Prints up schedule of transports from Epic
  • May assist with patient care as delegated and under the supervision of a Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional
  • Prepares, maintains, and cleans department/treatment areas in compliance with safety and infection control standards
  • Completes cleaning per schedule
  • Completes maintenance, temperature, and safety checklist
  • Completes required checklists
  • Aids in ordering, inventorying, issuing and verifying billing of supplies and/or patient treatment equipment, including rental equipment
  • Knowledge of varying requirements for payor reimbursement of issued medical equipment, including waivers for non-covered equipment and Medicare primary walker issuance
  • Ability to navigate in Epic to print up face sheet
  • Meets Customer Service Expectations for Department
  • Addresses patients/visitors in a professional and positive manner
  • Answers phones promptly and courteously
  • Protects confidentiality of protected patient information while working in a highly visible environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple, simultaneous tasks in an environment faced with interruptions
  • Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with department productivity standards, attendance, time management and prioritization
  • Participates in department, facility process/quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross) prior to the end of orientation. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Interest in Rehab Services or Healthcare fields.

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
