Responsibilities

  • Implement and track changes to existing and new products, including formulas, ingredients, and labeling.
  • Obtain and maintain current label approvals, including the submission of label applications.
  • Track and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards using reporting tools.
  • Provide support to the Product Development team.
  • Stay updated on FDA/USDA label regulations and changes, and navigate the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
  • Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) 204 Traceability Regulatory requirements.
  • Implement changes efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Support various departments involved with regulatory affairs.
  • Participate in the SQF audit process.
  • Learn and navigate online databases for customer specifications and labeling submissions.
  • Maintain product specifications across all facilities.
  • Utilize software to generate nutritional panels and ingredient statements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with USDA regulatory labeling practices.
  • HACCP Certification is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple specification sheets simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with submitting labels to FSIS.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of nutritional and ingredient statements, packaging layouts, and relevant regulations.
  • Knowledge of various claims labeling, such as gluten-free and vegan, is preferred.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000/ Year DOE
