Regulatory Associate - Insurance Products

About the role

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an Associate to join its Insurance Products Group, a premier regulatory practice, to work on sophisticated matters at the intersection of insurance and securities regulation. This position is open in our New York or Washington, D.C. offices.

Responsibilities

• Navigate complex regulatory frameworks under the U.S. federal securities laws and insurance regulation
• Work closely with Partners to advise life insurance companies on the development, registration, administration, and distribution of life and retirement products
• Engage directly with clients, regulators, and industry associations
• Develop deep expertise in insurance and securities regulation

Requirements

• 2-5 years of regulatory compliance experience (law firm, regulator, or in-house)
• Focus on U.S. federal securities laws (Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, or Securities Exchange Act of 1934) and/or insurance regulation
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks
• Commitment to building expertise in a specialized area of law and immersion into the insurance industry
• Effective project and time management skills
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia
• Passing grade on the bar exam

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in legal research and analysis

Pay

The salary is commensurate with years of relevant experience & geographic location. The salary range for our Associate position is $235,000-365,000.

Schedule

The Associate position requires in-office presence three days per week.
