Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented food safety and quality leader to provide corporate oversight of regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and risk mitigation programs across E.A. Sween facilities.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Promote compliance with company and regulatory safety policies to support a safe work environment.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Lead corporate audit readiness programs, internal facility audits, GMP inspections, and gap assessments.
  • Serve as the corporate lead for regulatory inspections, customer audits, and third-party food safety assessments across facilities.
  • Cook up enterprise CAPA responses to ensure timely closure of audit findings and nonconformances.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and translate requirements into practical guidance for manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as PCQI and corporate owner of HACCP and preventive controls programs.
  • Partner with Regulatory Compliance and R&D to ensure labels and packaging meet ingredients, allergen, and nutrition labeling requirements.
  • Oversee certification programs, including SQF, BRCGS, Organic, Kosher, Halal, and Non-GMO.
  • Oversee document management systems for SOPs, food safety records, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead enterprise mock recalls and traceability exercises to verify effective track-and-trace capabilities.
  • Partner with Quality Managers on product hold, release, and escalation decisions involving quality deviations or foreign material incidents.
  • Cook up supplier approval and risk review processes in partnership with Supplier Quality.
  • Cook up supplier and co-manufacturer audit activities with FSQ leadership and Procurement.
  • Champion a proactive food safety culture across operations, sanitation, warehouse, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training for allergens, food safety, food defense, chemical handling, and related topics.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and improve customer and employee outcomes.
  • Model the Spirit of E.A. Sween and influence accountability across teams.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and recommendations that support team capability and performance improvement.
  • Promote a respectful, collaborative, and solutions-focused work environment.
  • Support new and revised product initiatives, including formulation changes and commercialization readiness.
  • Partner with R&D, Production, Quality, Marketing, Sales, and other functions to resolve issues and support successful product launches.
  • Maintain industry knowledge to support process improvement and regulatory readiness.

Required What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of food safety, quality, regulatory, or audit leadership experience in food manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of FSMA, USDA requirements, CFR regulations, HACCP, preventive controls, and GFSI audit schemes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with eQMS, traceability databases, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Teams, and related business software.
  • Ability to balance strategic corporate leadership with hands-on support of manufacturing operations.
