Registration Specialist -Part Time
Job Summary
The Registration Specialist is responsible for check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission, and admission. These functions include but are not limited to obtaining accurate and thorough demographic information, responsibility for adhering to compliance with CMS, government payors, commercial and third party payors, EMTALA, and The Joint Commission rules and regulations and ensuring compliance, requirements, benefit verification, preauthorization requirements, signatures on consent for treatment, co-pay collection and other payments on previous balances, obtaining information, pictures and signature on HIPAA forms, issuing Medicare/Tricare Important Messages and Patient Rights and Responsibilities.
Job Details And Requirements
- Part time: 16 hours per week
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification & Licensures: N/A
- Experience: Two years of experience in a business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions setting preferred.
- Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and software programs is essential.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner in dealing with customers and staff in all manners of communication.
- Demonstrate appropriate and timely independent judgment.
