Registration Specialist II

About the role

The Registration Specialist assists patients during on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits, and completes financial clearance functions. This role involves collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, handling patient financial obligations at the time of service, and performing financial clearance on assigned scheduled accounts during registration downtimes. The Registration Specialist II greets and serves patients and internal team members professionally and respectfully to promote positive encounters. Some travel between sites and extended hours may be required based on department needs.

Responsibilities

• Complete registration for scheduled and unscheduled visits by collecting accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Handle patient financial obligations at the time of service.
• Perform financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts during registration downtimes.
• Greet and serve patients and internal team members in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner.
• Travel between sites and work extended hours as required by department needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
• At least 1-2 years of prior registration experience (Preferred).
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with the public and co-workers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
