Registration Representative Clinton ED Per Diem Day Shift
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Hiring Range: $15.00 - $27.00. Please note that the final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
- Every other holiday, Sunday through Saturday, weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Per-diem, as needed, mainly first shift and third shift, Monday-Saturday
- Must work a minimum of 2-4 shifts a month
- Mixed shift, 8 hours
- Hours and days can vary depending on departmental needs, Monday-Sunday including holidays

Responsibilities
- Enter Lab, Radiology, and basic ancillary service appointments to schedules
- Schedule patients for treatment and services for multiple providers at multiple campuses
- Coordinate the provision of multiple services to patients
- Process updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information, as well as obtain prior insurance referrals and authorizations
- Collect patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service, as appropriate
- Arrange a variety of associated tests, procedures, and/or ancillary services according to established guidelines and specific criteria
- Prioritize visits and services to foster efficient utilization of physician’s clinical staff, patient’s time, and equipment and facilities
- Obtain and enter into the computer-based patient registration/scheduling system demographic, insurance, and other related patient information
- Obtain and verify patient insurance coverage and follow guidelines established by insurers to ensure pre-authorization, pre-certification, and physician referrals for treatment are obtained prior to patient visits
- Follow up to correct discrepancies as required
- Telephone and/or notify patients of appointment times
- Provide patients with standard information regarding their personal preparation for scheduled procedures and services
- Mail patient information packets to patients
- Transcribe paper orders when applicable
- Assess patients’ financial needs and direct accordingly to financial counseling, referring to appropriate person or area
- Provide a variety of related clerical duties, such as retrieving medical and other records, faxing, collating, typing, transcribing, taking and relaying messages, etc.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, logs, charges, files, and related information as required
- Collect patient liabilities including deductibles, copays, coinsurances, self-pay payments, cosmetic procedure payments, and patient balances as appropriate, prior to or on the date of service
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field
