Registration Associate – St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time – Rotating Shift

About the role

A two-week training period is required Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Holiday and/or weekend rotation is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-focused customer service.
• Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.
• Collects patient financial liability payments and ensures patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications, and referrals.
• Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.
• Assists with clerical duties to keep the department running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year customer service experience.
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.

Additional Qualifications

• Medical terminology required.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.
• Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.

Pay

$17.25–$22.54 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
