About the role

We are seeking a Trauma Registrar to join our dedicated team at Paris Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate trauma registry data and ensuring timely and accurate entry of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current, accurate data within the trauma registry by collecting, entering, retrieving, and reporting data related to all trauma patients.
• Ensure all necessary demographic and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Codes injury severity for all traumatic injuries using doctor/nurse notes and other medical record reports.
• Sets appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Maintains trauma database, updates database, manages changes and corrections to database.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is helpful.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Additional education required after hire.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
