About the role
We are seeking a Trauma Registrar to join our dedicated team at Paris Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate trauma registry data and ensuring timely and accurate entry of patient information.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current, accurate data within the trauma registry by collecting, entering, retrieving, and reporting data related to all trauma patients.
- Ensure all necessary demographic and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
- Codes injury severity for all traumatic injuries using doctor/nurse notes and other medical record reports.
- Sets appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes.
- Maintains trauma database, updates database, manages changes and corrections to database.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is helpful.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Additional education required after hire.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
