About the Role
The Registration Staff greets patients and visitors, creating a friendly environment while collecting necessary visit information. They perform clerical duties, process workflows, and handle financial discussions efficiently, adhering to organizational and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and guests.
- Register patients promptly, including demographic, insurance, and visit details, obtaining signatures and verifying identity.
- Assist with check-in, admission, and escort patients to treatment areas.
- Handle financial transactions, provide estimates, and collect payments.
- Complete documentation, validate insurance eligibility, and manage system registration edits.
- Answer department calls, distribute information, and support patient documentation processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all policies and standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience; healthcare setting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Patient Rights, HIPAA, and Medicare guidelines (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and basic medical terminology skills (preferred).
- Ability to perform clerical and basic physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Adherence to remote work policies if applicable, ensuring a secure, distraction-free workspace.
- Compliance with all organizational policies and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
