About the Role
The Taft Museum of Art seeks a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Visitor Services Assistant. This position will provide exceptional customer service, assist visitors with their museum experience, and support the museum's educational programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and informative assistance to visitors of all ages.
- Guide visitors through the museum, offering insights on artworks and exhibits.
- Assist with group bookings and special event coordination.
- Manage ticketing and admissions processes.
- Support educational programming and outreach initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for visitors.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of art history and museum practices preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a customer service role is a plus.
- Interest in art and cultural heritage.
