Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registrar is responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. Interviews patients for all pertinent account information and verifies insurance coverage.

What you will do in this role

• Welcome patients and family members in a professional manner.
• Schedule, register and interview patients to obtain all accurate and necessary account information.
• Explain policies regarding services, charges, insurance billing, and payment of your account.
• Collect full or partial payment for services rendered according to collection policy.
• Issue waivers for signatures appropriate.
• Call, verify and obtain all insurance pre-certifications or authorizations.
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.
• Work with nursing staff for emergency medical needs, answering patient and visitor questions.
• Prepare daily deposits and maintain the integrity of the cash drawer.
• Produce paperwork on each patient for distribution to appropriate departments.
• Routinely admit documents and forms to appropriate departments.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED
• 1 year of related experience preferred
