Registered Veterinary Technician

About the role

VCA A Breed Apart is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our AAHA-accredited, 5-doctor practice in Pasadena, California. The position is full-time and available for an experienced RVT.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and record keeping
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Dentistry
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate care for hospitalized patients
• Client Relations
• Housekeeping/Maintenance

Qualifications

• Previous Animal Hospital experience
• Animal Handling
• Anesthesia monitoring (preferred)
• Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties
• Friendly, outgoing, “People-oriented” personality
• Flexibility in hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Customer service skills, including phone skills
• Working knowledge of computers
• Excellent communications skills
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
