Registered Veterinary Technician

Job Type Full-time Description Aggie Animal Dental Center (AADC), part of Animal Outpatient Specialty Network (AOSN), is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our specialty dental team! AOSN is a privately owned veterinary outpatient specialty network bringing together board-certified specialists in surgery, dermatology, oncology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology, and internal medicine. Our teams are committed to providing exceptional specialty care while giving pet parents the communication, support, and peace of mind they deserve. At AADC, we focus exclusively on oral and maxillofacial health, but no two days are the same. In addition to routine dental cleanings and extractions, our team performs advanced procedures including root canals, jaw fracture repairs, metal crown placement, oral oncologic surgery, and other complex dental procedures. We also regularly provide advanced dental care at the Oakland and San Francisco Zoos. Previous veterinary dentistry experience is not required. We are looking for an RVT who is compassionate, positive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow within a specialty practice. Requirements What You'll Do: Calculate and administer medications IV, IM, and SCPlace IV catheters and perform phlebotomyInduce and monitor anesthesiaAssist with dental and oral surgical proceduresPrepare, clean, wrap, and sterilize surgical instrumentsProvide compassionate nursing care and safely restrain patients ranging from approximately 2–180 lbs., with assistance as neededPerform basic patient assessments and communicate findings to the veterinarianMaintain accurate electronic medical records, including SOAPs and chargesFill prescriptions and dispense medications as directedProvide warm, professional client communication, including patient check-in and discharge instructionsAssist with front-office responsibilities, including phones and scheduling, as neededMaintain a clean, organized hospital and contribute to a positive team environment What We're Looking For Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital; specialty experience is a plus but not requiredStrong anesthesia, catheter placement, phlebotomy, and patient-handling skillsExcellent communication and client service skillsPositive, dependable, and self-motivated with strong attention to detailComfortable working as part of a collaborative team and willing to learn and share knowledgeAdaptable and able to take initiative in a fast-paced specialty environmentComfortable working in a primarily electronic/near-paperless medical environmentPassionate about providing exceptional patient care Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs. independently and safely assist with larger patientsAbility to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and move throughout an 8+ hour workdayAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment What We Offer 4/10 work scheduleCompetitive wagesPaid vacationPaid holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insurance optionsShort-term disabilityVoluntary benefits, including accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity401(k) with employer matchContinuing education opportunitiesUniformsEmployee pet discounts on services and medicationsOpportunities to develop specialized dental skills and grow within AOSN Why AADC?
